A few words about me
As human beings we are all wired for connection, it is a part of our neurobiological make-up. Yet, many of us experience times in our lives when that connection is interrupted. This interruption can stem from negative life events, trauma, stress, loss or even entering a new stage of our life. It can result in feelings of loneliness, depression, anxiety, addictive coping strategies and complications in other areas of our lives, including health problems.
Working with individuals, couples and families who long to reconnect with one another, others and themselves is my passion as a therapist. Together, with my clients, we explore the challenges and patterns that keep them from moving in the direction they want for their life and relationships. Each person has a very unique and personal story that is informed by the experiences had since birth and carried generationally within our families.
Over the course of my career, I have become increasingly interested in our experiences as people, the meaning we make of those experiences and how this shapes our views of ourselves, others and the world around us. If you as an individual, couple or family are seeking to create meaningful change in your life so that you may love and live more freely and fully, I would love to hear from you to discuss how therapy can be a part of that change in creating and living a fuller life.
My passion for working with individuals and families led me to pursuing advanced trainings and certification in EMDR, EFT, addiction and grief therapy. I am an EMDRIA certified therapist, consultant and facilitator. As an EMDR facilitator and member of the Humanitarian Assistance Program I have the privilege and honor of assisting in the training of other clinicians in their pursuit of learning EMDR. As a certified EFT therapist and ICEEFT approved supervisor, I have extensive training in working with couples and families utilizing this effective model of therapy. I am also a Certified Addictions Counselor, level III in the state of Colorado.
I have lived in Colorado for over 20 years and have come to know this beautiful state as my home. Together my husband and I have created a wonderful blended family with three children ranging from their teens to their 20’s. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy traveling, yoga, golf, scuba diving and spending as much time as possible outdoors hiking, running and gardening. My best days are spent with family, friends and of course our two yellow labrador retrievers, Maya and Oslo.
